When Paulk Vineyards began making wines in 2017, we kept things simple, making high-quality wines from Georgia Grown fruit, specifically fruit grown on our family farm. As time passed, we received suggestions of wines we should add, many of which were not fruits that we currently grow. This led to the idea to develop a brand new line of wines.
We struggled for months to decide on a name and look for this new brand, even scrapping several ideas that we thought were great, just not quite right. Finally, while on vacation with extended family, Chris and Jorjanne saw a bakery with the sign “Sweet Treats.” This reminded her of the Native American history of the word “scuppernong,” which comes from the Algonquin word “ascopo” meaning “sweet bay tree.”
Jorjanne looked at the sign, then looked at Chris and said, “What about ‘Sweet Tree’?” He immediately responded, “That’s good. That’s really good!” And, the rest, as they say, is history.
Sweet Tree captures the essence of all that we were looking to showcase in this new line of wines. We build on our base of muscadine and scuppernong wines, infusing them with delicious, natural fruit flavors, to create sweet wines that offer a unique twist on our southern heritage.
We wanted to create a brand that was fun and playful, but still simple and classy, at an affordable price that anyone can appreciate. This brand had to stand out on the shelf, but also stand next to our original premium Paulk Vineyards line. We knew these wines would be sweet, but more than anything else, they had to taste good!
Sweet Tree Wine is perfect for a day out on the lake or at the beach, a casual dinner with family and friends at home, or relaxing on the sofa after the kids are in bed. For the busy mom-on-the-go, it’s the ideal bottle to grab off the shelf at the grocery store, whether she’s having a dinner party or just enjoying it herself. Any host would love to open the door to a guest holding a bottle of Sweet Tree, and it’s a great addition to any celebration – birthdays, anniversaries, bachelorette parties, etc.
